North Bend STEM Academy welcomed several local families to its Summer STEM Carnival for an evening of hands-on activities, family fun and an introduction to the new tuition-free K–5 public charter school opening this fall.

Families had the opportunity to explore the school community, learn more about North Bend STEM Academy’s academic program and meet newly appointed Principal David Jones. Guests also connected with school board member and longtime Cincinnati civic leader Charles Winburn, who joined the event in support of the school’s launch and its commitment to serving families in the College Hill, Mt. Airy and surrounding communities.

During the event, the school also announced that North Bend STEM Academy has been named a Project Lead The Way school, strengthening its commitment to hands-on, project-based learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The carnival featured STEM activities, a bounce house and Snowie Ice, giving children an early glimpse of the curiosity, creativity and active learning that will shape the student experience at North Bend STEM Academy.

The event marked an important milestone as the school prepares to open for the 2026–27 school year. Enrollment is now open to students in grades K–5 from across Ohio.
